Other skills, experiences or observations: • Mines electrician, Overhead Cranes , Hoists, Elctrical Locomotives,Underground Automatic shunting system, Winches, Motor control, Housing maintanance AC/DC power generation, HV switchgear & transformers. My tasks: • I ensure that all electrical related equipment and systems operate in a safe and efficient manner. • I organize, label, and store all electrical spares. • I normally maintain a written log of maintenance performed. • I work closely with vendor technical service representatives to better understand equipment function. • I assist in on-site training of rig personnel as required. • I eliminate all electrical hazards as they are identified. • To check all panels and switches for faults, trips and alarms. • Check on blowers and fans in the engine room. • Monitor the cooling tempretures and oil and freon levels. • Report to the control room or bridge to monitor and rectify any alarm signals. • Inspect and rectify any defect lights around the vessel. • Check all drying heaters on non running DC motors and generators. • General mapping of critical readings around the vessel. • Rectify Scada and Plc problems with the Chief Engineer. • Inspection & maintenance on radios and intercom and battery systems. • Scheduled maintenance and and inspections on cranes. • General repairs and preventative maintenance on vessel • Housekeeping.
